Description
Clear bay delineation without the risk of vehicle damage
Traditional cast-in poles and rigid bollards used to mark parking bays create a genuine risk of vehicle damage when drivers encroach on the bay boundary. Bumper damage, paintwork scratches and broken trim are a predictable consequence of contact with a rigid post. The Flexible Parking Bay Delineator removes that risk entirely.
When a vehicle makes contact with the delineator, the post flexes and bends, effectively waving at the driver to signal encroachment. It then returns to its original upright position without damage to the delineator or the vehicle. This makes it a practical and low-risk alternative to traditional parking bay markers in any car park, service yard or facility where vehicle damage and complaints are an operational concern.
Flexible polyurethane construction with pre-fitted signage
The delineator is moulded from flexible polyurethane, the same 100% recyclable material used across the Brandsafe Flexi-Delineator range. The post flexes under contact and returns to shape, requiring no replacement after routine vehicle encroachment. This keeps maintenance costs low and avoids the disruption of replacing damaged markers across a car park or bay layout.
Each delineator comes with pre-fitted highly visible signage and four diamond grade reflective bands across the post height. The diamond grade reflectors provide enhanced visibility in low-light conditions and at night, supporting safer and more accurate parking in busy or poorly lit environments.
Two signage options are available. The disabled parking bay variant carries the recognised disabled bay symbol for clear designation of accessible spaces. The electric vehicle charging bay variant carries EV charging signage for clear identification of charging points. Both variants are available on the same post, making the system straightforward to specify across a mixed bay layout.
Installation and placement
The Flexible Parking Bay Delineator fixes using three M10 x 100mm flange head coach screws with nylon plugs, suitable for both tarmac and concrete substrates. Installation is straightforward and all fixings are supplied.
The post stands at 1000mm high with an 80mm body diameter, a 194mm outside diameter and a 200mm base diameter. Placement at the centre of the bay is recommended to provide the clearest demarcation and most effective warning to drivers approaching from either direction.
Where the Flexible Parking Bay Delineator is specified
The delineator is used in car parks, service yards, retail and commercial facilities, hospitals, logistics hubs and any location where disabled or electric vehicle bays need to be clearly marked and protected from encroachment. It is particularly well suited to sites where vehicle damage from contact with traditional markers has been an issue, or where a softer, more driver-friendly approach to bay management is required.
It works effectively as a standalone bay marker or alongside other Brandsafe traffic management and delineation products where a broader site safety layout is being specified.
Supporting compliance and duty of care
Under the Equality Act 2010, employers and site operators are required to make reasonable adjustments to ensure disabled people can access facilities, which includes the clear and maintained designation of disabled parking bays. For electric vehicle charging infrastructure, clear bay designation supports compliance with site management obligations and the operational requirements of charging point operators.
The Flexible Parking Bay Delineator provides a visible, low-maintenance physical marker that supports both obligations without creating the vehicle damage risk associated with rigid alternatives. For facilities managers and H&S managers, a flexible delineator system demonstrates a considered approach to both accessibility compliance and practical site management.
